Causes of legal malpractice

There are at least 3 reasons why attorneys commit legal malpractice. First, an attorney may be trying to handle a case that exceeds his experience and abilities. Secondly, an attorney may have too much work, which results in certain cases being neglected. Thirdly, an attorney’s judgment may be impaired as a result of substance abuse, alcholism, or mental illness.
